Results for the Chattanooga Burger Month Poll

The Chattanooga Burger Debate Rolls On

We asked Chattanoogans, “What are your favorite restaurants around town for burgers?” Bear in mind this wasn’t a contest to determine “Best of the Best” Chattanooga Burger which is why we broke it up into different areas around town. Over 1,600 people responded to our online poll. We can hardly wait to start visiting these local establishments in celebration of National Burger Month, and we hope you’ll be able to join us. And now for the results…

In the most burger-dense part of town with 13 restaurants vying for the top spot, Universal Joint came out on top with the most votes in the Downtown area. The Bitter Alibi came in second with TheĀ Honest Pint running a close third.

Tremont Tavern ran away with the votes and apparently the hearts of many Chattanoogans by capturing over 74% of the votes for the North Shore. Nikki’s came in a distant second with just over 10% of the votes.

A heated battle took place between three establishments known for their beef. When the dust settled it was Urban Stack standing tall in the top slot with just over 25% of the votes for the Southside. Main Street Meats came in a close second with just over 22% followed by Slicks around 20%.

What started as a horse race ended with Merv’s pulling away with over 44% of the vote. Sofa King Juicy Burger come in a solid second with 32% of the vote with Dub’s Place in third with about 10%.

Burger Hixson

Ooltewah / East Brainerd

We expected this to be an interesting race since there are a number of respectable burger joints on this side of town. In the end it was Armando’s coming out on top with over 33% of the vote followed by Southern Burger with 26%, Fat Boys with 16%, and Kevin Brown’s with just under 14%.

What’s Next?

Next up we’ll be coordinating with the top vote getters to schedule Chattanooga Burger MeetUps next week. These will be casual gatherings where we collectively celebrate with a burger and wash it down with a beverage of your choice. Those who entered their email address in the poll are eligible to win a free burger at the MeetUp. Or should we call it a MeatUp?

Give us a day or two to coordinate with the restaurants. Soon we’ll announce times and dates. Once set, we’ll create an event for each of the five MeetUpsĀ on our Facebook Page.
