A busy summer will be coming to an end shortly, but not before some pretty awesome events in the Scenic City. Chattanooga Football Club’s season ended in heartbreak this weekend, but The Lookouts are still in full swing. Local breweries will be participating in the 22nd Annual Southern Brewers Fest on Aug 20th, and there is still plenty of music to listen to at Nightfall and Riverfront Nights. But you guys know we’re into food, and trust us, it’s gonna be a great week for food in Chattanooga. Over 30 local restaurants will be participating in Chattanooga Magazine’s Restaurant Week.

Many of the participating restaurants will be featuring a unique, seasonal menu that highlights connections with local farmers. Some of our favorites including Embargo 62, Flying Squirrel, Two Ten Jack, Mrs. B’s and Good Dog will be whipping up something extra tasty. You can find a current list of the special offerings here, but don’t be shy if you something on the list that you haven’t tried before. The goal is to get you to try new things and new places, according to organizers.

Restaurant Week will conclude with a saucy showcase at The Chattanooga Market that will pit 5 local Chefs against each other in the Five Star Food Fight. The event will begin at 11:00am and last until 4:00pm, but from about 12:30 to 2:30 all who have gathered will get to see firsthand what it’s like to be in the kitchen with some of the best chefs in Chattanooga, as they create a brand new dish with a mystery main ingredient. Local Media will be on hand to jazz up the experience and a panel of judges will dish out bragging rights and the “golden ticket” to the 2016 World Food Championships. Participants include Eric Fulkerson, Bald Headed Bistro (returning 2015 Champ); Patrick Halloran, Hummingbird Pastaria; Michael Blanton, FIVE; Adam Roe, The Chattanooga Hotel; and David Wright, The Flying Squirrel.
